Young William Plays it Safe

Hello dear readers and welcome to the first of probably not many blog posts by me. The reason for me creating this blog isn't that I think you people want to know about my life or care what i think about stuff. No, I created this blog so that it gives Dave one less thing to have a go at me for. Anyway, lets start this thing rolling shall we?

When first deciding to create a blog I was faced with a big decision of what to call the thing. My first idea was "Young Will Plays it Safe" of course a reference to the short story written by Douglas Adams set in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy universe called "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe". Althought I decided against this because I was worried about having the two words "Will" and "Young" so close together, giving the undesired implication that I was some how related to the popular singer-songwriter. I also wished to avoid the inevitable homosexual jokes that would be made at my expense. So I thought, quite cleverly, of instead of using the name "Will" I would use my full name "William" thus becoming "Young William Plays it Safe". I decided against this however because the whole Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers reference is probably far too geeky for anyone to get. So I gave up and fell back on my classic, myspace era name of "Fire at Wills" (or "Willz" as it was back in the day). This is a play on the phrase "Fire at Will" often used in films and television programs. "Orders from Mr. Saxon. Fire at Will!" from TV show Doctor Who is a good example of said phrase.

Well thats pretty much all I can think of to write at the moment. Althought in the process of writting this I have decided that in the future I will write my blog posts in Microsoft Word first cos I'm shocking at spelling and my interent doesn't have a spell check. Atleast I don't think it does.....
